DARING DEBATERS

Debating has become an important activity at St. Clare Centre for Girls.  Emmy from class 8 and Heartlight from Form 3 share what has been happening.

At St. Clare we have debates every Tuesday evening. The debates involve two teams, the PROPOSERS (primary school) and the OPPOSERS (secondary school). Debates are in English and Kiswahili on different days. One week we debate in English, and the next week we debate in Kiswahili.

Debates are good because they increase confidence in the students, as they have to stand up on a topic. They also develop our language ability in English and Swahili, as well as developing leadership skills.
