HERE A BOOK, THERE A BOOK, EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK, A BOOK!

The girls read from St. Clare's balcony

Recently, St. Clare Centre realized a dream.  Mr. Bernard, the administrator said, “The dream of storybooks has come to reality.  We have been able to purchase the books (450 Swahili story books and 750 English storybooks) which we believe the girls will put to great use.”  The books will help with vocabulary development, comprehension, story telling and reading literacy.

And they read on the stairs...

All of this is possible, thanks to Steve and Elaine Bennett who donated the money to purchase these books.  The books will be in a section of the library, which is dedicated to Spencer Bennett, Steve’s and Elaine’s son, who died earlier in 2017.  Reading good literature will also help with comprehension and should increase scores on the national exams.

and they read near the courtyard....

Thank you, Bennett family.  We can continue to nurture the reading culture at St. Clare.

...and they sit to read...
