Seventy new metal bunk beds have arrived at St. Clare. These new beds are replacing the older, termite ridden wooden beds.

Custom made locally, the older girls were given the job of carrying the beds up the three flights of stairs where the welder was waiting. They will then be moved to the dormitory and be used by 140 girls. Since they did the hauling, the older girls are hoping they get the new beds. Does seniority truly have it’s privileges.
