Mary Queen of Angels Students with their books

Mary Queen of Angels School in New Kensington, Pennsylvania has been busy with Books That Bind, a program that connects cultures. The students at MQA have linked up with students from St. Clare Centre. Teachers who teach K through grade 3 at MQA coordinated the publishing of a book about the mysteries of the rosary, which will be distributed to students at St. Clare Centre. Board member and founder of Books that Bind, Marcy O’Neil, carried 80 copies of the 46-page book to St. Clare this February. St. Clare students will reciprocate in some way with the intent that the project continues into the future. According to Bernadette Grace, MQA teacher, the point it more than teaching the children the rosary’s mysteries. It is also intended to give the children a shared faith experience. She notes, “Students learn that their religion is not just happening here in New Kensington. This church is global.”
