Teacher, Madam Nancy (St. Clare grad) and
one of the winning students

The secondary students at St. Clare Centre were involved in a mathematics contest organized by a mathematics panel headed by Mr. Fred. Mr. Fred noted that the contest's theme, Math Is Fun, “motivates all students to love math since it is a matter of playing with digits.”

Participating in "Math is Fun" were eleven students from forms 1, 2 and 3 (freshmen, sophomores, juniors) along with every student in form 4 (seniors). The remaining secondary students were grouped and they had math discussion groups aided by their panel teachers. The best five students in each class were awarded t-shirts and candies for their outstanding performances.

The winners

One goal set by the math panel centers on elevating mathematic performance among the girls. In boosting math performance, low scores can be eliminated with math emerging as an excellent advancement tool for the girls.
