SHOES THAT GROW
SHOES THAT GROW
The first Shoes that Grow have arrived at St. Clare Centre FOR Girls. Identifying the girls most in need of shoes, Madam Phaustine, St. Clare principal, trained the Form 4 (senior) girls how to fit the shoes. The girls lined up outside St. Clare and the senior girls fit one by one shoes; they became shoe salesperson for a day! The first 48 girls are now sporting their new footwear. As Friends of Kenyan Orphans Board members arrive with more shoes, each girl will have her own pair.
Outside the library a crowd of girls gathered, jealously peering in and all asking the same question: “Will I receive a shoe that grows?” It was amazing how quickly the girls, even the very little ones, learned how to adjust them to their feet. There are a lot of happy, and many expectant faces at St. Clare today.
Later in the day several small girls were spotted carrying their new treasure, a pair of shoes that grow, still in the original bag. They didn’t want to walk on this precious gift!!
Asante sana to becauseinternational.org for the Shoe that Grows and for providing them to Friends of Kenyan Orphans so reasonably. You are making a difference in the lives of over 300 girls at St. Clare Centre for Girls.
